Q.  How close is Hilltonia Homestead to the beach?

A.  About a 4 or 5 minute drive to the Rye beach and the same distance in the other direction to the ocean beach.  As we are set on 40 acres it is a little too far to walk to the beach.

Q.  Is Hilltonia Homestead located close to the Peninsula Hot Springs complex.

A.  Directly over the road, however, as we are both set on country properties it is still a 5 to 10 minute walk door to door but only 2 minutes by car.

Q.  Is the swimming pool heated?

A.  Yes, solar heated.  So the warmer the weather is the warmer the pool will be.

Q.  Do the cottages have DVD players as well as VCR?

A.  Yes, the cottages have both DVD and VCR.  The B&B suites do not have have either, just a TV.

Q.  Do we need to bring our own movies?

A.  You can bring your own, however, you can just show your room key at the Video Ezy store in Rye and rent any movies you wish.  We find this is the best way to keep the latest movies accessable to you.

Q.  Is there a restaurant on the premises?

A.  No.  We have bed and breakfast only.  There is an excellent selection of restaurants all within a 5 minute drive from us.  We are happy to help you with any arrangements.

Q.  Do you supply tennis racquets and balls for the tennis court?

A.  Yes.

Q.  Do we need to book a court time?

A.  No.  There is no need to book.

Q.  How long has Hilltonia Homestead been operating for?

A.  The current owners have been there since 2001.  Prior to that the business first began in 1992.

Q.  Is there a supermarket nearby?

A.  The nearest supermarket is at the Rye shops - about 4 or 5 minutes drive.

Q.  Does Hilltonia offer family accommodation?

A.  No.  All the suites and cottages are suitable for 1 or 2 adults per room.

Q.  Is there a taxi service on the Mornington Peninsula?

A.  Yes.  There are taxi's, however, the service can be limited on busy weekends.

Q.  How far is Hilltonia from Melbourne?

A.  About 85km from the CBD or about 90 minutes drive depending on traffic.

Q.  Are there laundry facilities?

A.  Yes.  Guests have full use of the laundry facilities which include washer and dryer.

Q.  Can I bring my pet?

A.  House trained, quiet, small to medium size dogs are welcome to stay in the cottages only.  You will need to bring along a dog bed. 

Q.  Are the rooms/cottages air conditioned?

A.  Of the cottages, Mediterranean, Victoria and African are air conditioned.  The Loft is also air conditioned.  The other suites and cottages are not.

Q.  What is on offer for breakfast?

A.  Cottages come with a breakfast hamper including sausages, eggs, bacon, tomato, variety of different breads, muffins, croissants, jams, cereals and milk.  Suites come with a cooked breakfast - guests have a large selection of options from a menu.  Special dietary requirments are catered for.

Q.  Can we get internet connection in the cottages/suites?

A.  No.  There are no phone points in the suites or cottages.  Guests are welcome to connect to the phone point at the main homestead for internet access.
